Creative Writing

You Need to Focus on Creative Writing Skills

The quiz identified that your biggest concern about your family history stories is writing entertaining stories that your family will want to read. No question if your stories are boring no one will read them and no one will learn about their ancestor and their history. Many family historians don’t understand the term creative nonfiction. But it simply means writing entertaining true stories using the creative writing tools of description, dialogue, characterization and plot.

Anyone can learn these skills and turn their genealogy research into engaging stories. It takes time and practice but certainly doable. It’s also fun and rewarding.
