Because research collects information—but story requires something more.

  1. This was lovely and thought-provoking to read on a day when I am stalling to write because I don’t have enough information. I will write with what I have–which is worthy enough to move the story and make a moment that matters. Thank you for the inspiration, as always.

  2. Many thanks for yet another inspirational talk. I have just found a journal written by my great-grandfather’s sister between 1858-1868. With her great grandson photographing each page and me trying to transcribe we are hoping for a great story to unfurl before us about why an established Barbadian family moved to Montreal in 1866.

    Happy Easter.
